Controversial contestant Sam Perry wins The Voice

Sam Perry’s unique performances, which combine his vocal abilities and electronic sound backups, have divided judges on The Voice this year.

But the 28-year-old came out on top last night as he was crowned the winner of the talent show.

His coach Kelly Rowland praised him on the finale for staying “focused among all the controversy”.

“You have been strong, you’ve been bulletproof and an unsuspected hero,” she added.

After favourite Sheldon Riley was eliminated, that left Sam and Bella Paige, 16, nervously waiting to see who would be crowned the winner of The Voice Australia 2018.

And, of course, Sam came out on top which has left many viewers divided on his triumph.

Many echoed Kelly’s praises on Twitter after Sam was announced as the winner.

However, many on social media weren’t as ecstatic Sam came out on top.

Whilst there was some outrage Sam won, one clever Twitter user did point out he did receive the most votes.

We’re sure Boy George had a lot to say about Sam’s win too.
