Coles' bold new direction as it launches latest Best Buys range
Coles appears to have issued another challenge to its rival Aldi as it launches a new range of Best Buys.
Shoppers for the first time will be able to choose from an expansive range of gym and health-related products, a break from the supermarket’s usual staples, alongside their groceries when the campaign launches on Friday.
Items set to feature in the catalogue include a weighted vest, resistance bands, an activity-tracking watch, a massage gun and yoga equipment.
In true supermarket style, all items will be on sale for cheaper than what’s typically offered in department stores or sport retailers.
Customers can get their hands on an activity-tracking watch for just $59.99, a 10-kilogram weighted vest for $39.99, a rechargeable massage gun for $89.99 and a three-in-one yoga mat roller for $19.99.
Massage therapy balls can be picked up for $4.99, a two-pack of glider discs for $6.99, three-pack of resistance bands for $9.99 and a smart body scale for $19.99.
Popular eight-kilogram weighted blankets will be on sale for $69.99, bamboo memory foam pillows for $9.99, a high performance blender for $99, an electric spiraliser for $34.99 and a food dehydrator for $39.99.
Sport gear including tennis rackets, tennis balls, soccer goals, soccer balls and a small trampoline will also be on offer, as well as a radio clock, a wireless charger and a webcam.
Best Buys items will be available at 196 stores nationwide, however none are located in the CBDs of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Canberra or Hobart.
The supermarket on Wednesday also reduced a range of sport and diet products by 50 per cent, including protein powders, supplements, low-carb bars and collagen powder.
Big brand vitamins including Swisse, Nature’s Way and Blackmores are among those to have been dramatically discounted.
