Coles bargain hunter pays just $26 for $166 worth of groceries: 'Fantastic'

A delighted Coles shopper has revealed how she managed to score a 25-item grocery haul for only $26, saving a whopping $140 in the process.

Posting to the Markdown Addicts Australia Facebook page, the Victorian woman said she scored meat for as low as 52 cents.

"I can finally say my Coles came through with the goods for once," the customer told the group. "My daughter has a good eye for a bargain! $166 worth for $26."

The woman included a photograph of her haul, showing roast chickens for $1.61 each, organic potatoes for $1.30 and ready-made salads for 40 cents per bag.

Responding to comments on her post, the woman revealed that she nabbed the impressive haul at Coles in South Melton.

“It was around 8.30pm when I went in, they were at the front where the ready made salads are,” she said.

Excited group members congratulated the savvy shopper on her bargain buys.

“I never see any deals like this let alone in that quantity,” one group member wrote.

“Fantastic! My local never has bargains like this so it’s great to share your excitement,” said another.

“Good on you for grabbing a bargain,” commented a third.

In response to concerned group members, the woman said she checked the meat before popping it into a freezer, and confirmed it was all of good quality.

Woolworths bargain hunter scores 'ripper' discounted meat haul

Another Victorian bargain hunter has nabbed a great deal this week, showing off a table covered with meat products that he bought for approximately a third of the original price.

The Woolworths customer took to Facebook to tell fellow shoppers about his haul, which included chicken tenders at $2.77, beef steaks for $4.70 and sausages for $5.78.

“Pretty happy with this haul. Over $200 worth of meat for $75,” he told the Markdown Addicts Australia group.

Although the Melbourne customer did not reveal the time visited his local store to scoop up the bargains, group members have still congratulated him on the savings.

“You wee ripper. Good on you. Good meals there,” wrote one group member.

“You could make chicken laksa, chicken soup, black bean stir fry, homemade sausage rolls,” said another.

Meat has gotten so expensive lately, good score,” commented a third.
