Coles, Vintage Cellars giving away $1 million whisky – here's how you can win

Vintage Cellars, the liquor arm of Coles, has announced that it will be giving away a $1 million bottle of whisky to one of its lucky rewards members to celebrate the launch of its VC Club program.

The Vintage Cellars Wine Club will now be known as the VC Club and loyal members will have access to benefits such as member-only special offers across spirits and beer as well as wine.

VC Club members who make a purchase of at least $100 between Wednesday, March 2 and Tuesday, April 26, will also go into a draw to win a bottle of rare Yamazaki 55-year-old Japanese Whisky.

The Yamazaki 55 is specially made from a precise blend of malts that have matured for over 55 years in mizunara oak casks.

The sale of a single bottle of Yamazaki 55 eclipsed records in 2020, when it sold for HK$6,200,000, or AU$1,075,000 at auction in Hong Kong.

Vintage Cellars Business Category Manager Ed Scully said the revamped VC Club represented the evolution of their modern Aussie drinks offering, which extends beyond wine to include craft beers, boutique spirits, and premium global drinks.

“I’m thrilled that we now have a loyalty program that rewards all of our customers, whether they are wine lovers, spirit drinkers, craft beer lovers or a blend of all three,” he concluded.

How does the Vintage Cellars Club work?

The renewed loyalty program will deliver immediate rewards, including special member-only pricing and personalised offers for each customer.

Members will still be able to enjoy exclusive features, such as tasting events, new product information and local releases across wine, beer and spirits.

Vintage Cellars prides itself for having one of Australia’s best ranges of Japanese whisky, which has grown exponentially in popularity over the past decade.

Mr Scully said he can’t think of a better way to celebrate the new VC Club than to give a lucky member “one of the most sought-after spirits in the world.”

How to enter the draw to win a $1 million bottle of Japanese whisky

To be in the running to win the $1 million bottle of rare whisky, customers must be members of the VC Club.

Once customers have signed up as a member, they then need to make a purchase of more than $100 to go in the draw.

The $100 purchase excludes gift cards and tobacco.

The winner will be announced after the end of the eight-week long competition, which ends on Tuesday, April 26.
