Clive Palmer party volunteers stumped when asked about policies

Clive Palmer has been accused of hiring young models to pose as volunteers to hand out how-to-vote cards in Queensland.

Footage has been shared to social media of an attractive young man and two women wearing yellow United Australia Party T-shirts outside a Cairns polling station.

Cairns Post reporter Chris Calcino asked the trio about Palmer’s policies, but they were left speechless by the question.

"What about Clive Palmer's policies do you like the best?" he asked.

After a long pause, the good-looking youth people looked down at the how-to-vote cards they were holding, appearing to search for clues for a good answer.

"Tax cuts," one eventually responded.

The trio denied they were being paid for their time, insisting they were “just volunteering”.

The same young man seen outside the Cairns polling booth appeared in a picture on the agency’s Facebook page last week.

Over in southwest Sydney, a man – believed to be a United Australia Party volunteer – was fined for allegedly exposing himself at a polling booth.
