Claudia Conway Says She and Mom Kellyanne Have Love Despite Differences: 'We Can Be Humans at the End of the Day'
"I can look at you and love you even though you have a different political opinion than I do," Claudia, 19, told her once-estranged mother during a joint appearance on FOX Nation
Claudia Conway is clearing the air with her mother, former Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, years after their strained relationship made national headlines.
In a candid conversation on FOX Nation's Here's The Deal with Kellyanne Conway, the Republican strategist mother and pro-choice activist daughter spoke openly about the upcoming presidential election, the issues that are most important to Gen Z voters, and how they have been working to bridge their own political gap.
Claudia — who rose to prominence during the 2020 presidential election when the teen opposed her mom's conservative political opinions and went viral on TikTok for her anti-Trump views — spoke with Kellyanne during the conversation about wanting to close the political divides that have impacted families like their own.

"Claudia, people will ask you or ask me consistently like, 'How can you disagree politically and love each other?' As if politics is more important than love," Kellyanne, 57, said during the wide-ranging conversation. "... Why is everyone always finding the two or three things on which we disagree?"
In response, the 19-year-old spoke about wanting to convince the U.S. public to stop viewing politics as a "binary."
"I think that we have a very binary view of politics just as a whole of our society. I think that when I always I always talk about the political spectrum, the extremes on both sides," the college student said. "That's why I'm a registered independent, because I'm told if you don't fit X, Y, and Z, you can't be a Republican. If you don't fit X, Y and Z, you can't be a Democrat. And I don't believe in that. I don't think things are black and white."
"You and I can sit here and find things that we agree on," she told her mother. "We can sit here and have common ground, even though we have completely different views on many different things. You know, last night you and I talked about the debate and you said, you know, Trump shouldn't have said this or not. We can agree on that."

Elsewhere in their conversation, Claudia spoke about the issues that matter most to young voters of her generation, and Kellyanne shared that she was "pleased that our youngest generation seems to be among the most politically active right now" — even if the majority of Gen Z voters disagree with her views.
"I think that reproductive health care, housing costs, the cost of living itself and ... our foreign conflicts as the United States are super, super important to this generation," Claudia said of Gen Z, speaking about how social media platforms are changing how information is disseminated. "I think that this election is kind of the pivot towards our generation and spotlights our generation and what we care about and how involved we are now getting in politics."
"It's very important how we feed information to our generation, because my generation cares about reproductive health care. I'd say that's probably in the top three issues, as well as the economy and the Israel-Hamas war," Claudia added.
Claudia has long been vocal about her political views on social media, and has shown her support for progressive issues such as women's reproductive rights, stricter gun control policies and the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as advocating for the LGBTQ+ community.
During Donald Trump's presidency, she spoke out against her mother's beliefs — mostly right-wing beliefs that were polar opposite to her own — and posted videos of their heated arguments to her TikTok account. She even said at one point that she wanted to become emancipated from Kellyanne, who later divorced her Trump-opposing father, George Conway.
Since their tense public disagreements a few years back, Claudia and Kellyanne have seemingly learned to accept each other's unique perspectives and have said that they maintain a loving relationship.
"I can look at you and love you even though you have a different political opinion than I do," Claudia said during the FOX interview. "And we can be humans at the end of the day. The divisiveness and the lack of unity in our political atmosphere right now is what is going to drive us further apart."
