Christmas is coming and the table needs to be set. After festivities were cancelled last year, there’s no better excuse to elevate your eating situation this time round.

And with #tablescapes being the hottest homeware trend during lockdown, we all had the chance to level-up our table laying – even if soirées were of the virtual kind, for a while. Now dinner parties are back on the menu, it’s time to impress IRL guests with a feast for the eyes (as well as the taste buds).

But if you spent more time treating yourself to takeout on the sofa, rather than honing your tablescaping skills? Fear not.

These five Instagrammers know how to put the fine into dining. Wow-worthy looks? Served

@laylondonltd

Got the idea but no gear? No worries. Rent ready-to-go tableware from London-based LAY, delivered straight to your door.

Sisters, Jemima and Alice Herbert wanted dinner parties to be more fun, with less waste. So they do all the legwork to save you time, money and (and let’s be real: storage space).

Once the party’s over? No need to make a meal of it – just clean and repack, and they’ll pick it all up again, too. Worth a follow for all the pretty tabletop setups, all year round.

@rosannafalconer

Brand consultant Rosanna knows a thing or two about aesthetically-pleasing table arrangements. As Matthew Williamson alumni, her ‘scapes are the perfect blend of bold colour and bohemia – just look at her #rohemiatable hashtag for proof.

And during lockdown, she brought us all the joy with #RosannasPositiviTea; a series of Instagram Lives with her inspirational friends (plus a themed table, ofc).

Tap follow for all the aspirational eye-candy.

PSA: Christmas scenes don’t have to be red and green – add all the colours of the rainbow with this bright accessories brand.

The brainchild of colour-lover Sara Brown, she wants everyone to embrace dopamine dining (and dressing) with her range of handcrafted homeware and accessories. We especially love the wavy glitter coasters and checked tablecloths.

@kirthanaa

A recent Insta-follow for us, Kirthanaa Naidu is the new name-to-know on the foodie scene – and her tablescapes look as delicious as her dishes (insert drool face emoji here).

Previously working in the charity sector, during lockdown she followed her passion and started posting recipes and tablescapes, inspired by her Malaysian heritage. The goal? To start hosting supper clubs at her home – and we’ll be first to sign up.

All hail the original tablescaping queen.

Designer and entrepreneur Alice Naylor-Leyland launched her ‘Tablescape In A Box’ in 2019, before the #tablescaping trend properly took off on Instagram

You can get the Insta-approved look by shopping Alice’s beautifully curated tableware online, with new collections dropping every season.
