Christian Eriksen waits for Inter Milan transfer as Tottenham receive improved offer

Christian Eriksen is eager to leave Tottenham this month, as Inter Milan wait to find out if their latest bid for the midfielder has succeeded.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio last night confirmed the Italian club have tabled a new offer worth £12.8million, according to Sky Italia.

Spurs have already rejected £10m and are believed to want closer to £17m for the Dane, who is out of contract in the summer.

Eriksen has already agreed terms with Inter over a four or four-and-a-half year deal and he stands to earn significantly more in a signing-on fee if he runs down his contract and joins on a free transfer in the summer.

However, the Dane is not motivated by money and he has made it clear that he will leave this month if a deal is reached.

The 27-year-old is eager for a new challenge and change of lifestyle in southern Europe, and is particularly keen to test himself in a different style of football, although manager Jose Mourinho has continued to use Eriksen while talks are going on.

Meanwhile, signing Tanguy Ndombele has returned to training but Mourinho is unlikely to play him against Norwich tomorrow night following groin and hip problems.
