Chris Hemsworth surprises hitchhiker with a helicopter ride

Chris Hemsworth has once again proved he’s truly a man of the people.

The 35-year-old actor made a hitchhiker’s day, when he offered to give Scott Hildebrand, who had travelled to Australia from Mexico, a cruisey car ride and helicopter transfer from Brisbane to Byron Bay.

In a video shared on the Thor star’s Instagram, a chuffed Scott could not believe his luck as Chris and pal Luke Zocchi pulled over on the side of the road to offer him a lift.

Luke explained in the video that they had “just landed in Brissy” when they spotted the hitchhiker, before Chris chimed in, “We’re going to Byron, we’ll give him a lift”.

Luck was well and truly on Scott’s side when he then found out he’d be getting a helicopter ride as well.

“Little does he know we’re getting a chopper,” Luke told the camera.

Welcome to Australia, mate,” Luke said as he shook Scott’s hand.

The tourist was understandably shocked and over the moon all at once, repeatedly saying throughout the helicopter ride, “No way”.

During their time up in the air, the trio were able to do some real bonding, with Luke even giving their guest a fun nickname, Scotty Boy.

But all good things must come to an end, and upon the end of their impromptu adventure, Chris left with a parting message, “Alright Scotty… back to the hitchhiking”.

“The experience was so cool and unexpected,” Scott later told E! News.

“They’re so nice and I couldn’t believe it was happening.”
