A search for a man missing for 10 days in central Queensland has been expanded, with a rescue helicopter assisting police.
Thomas Paynter, 63, was last seen at a camp site near Agnes Water, south of Gladstone, on May 21, with family members reporting him missing on Monday.
Police had been conducting ground searches of the local area since then, however the search was stepped up on Thursday with the RACQ Rescue Helicopter scouring the area from the air.
There are concerns for Mr Paynter's welfare as he suffers from a medical condition.
He's believed to be travelling in a blue Toyota Prado, with Queensland registration 296 XOL.
Search teams have been scouring more than 500 square kilometres between Agnes Water and Bundaberg.
Authorities are due to continue the search on Friday.
