China seeks to rebuild trust with Canberra

Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi has told Australian counterpart Penny Wong both countries should gradually address each others' legitimate concerns and make positive inputs to address current global challenges.

Both countries should work to rebuild trust between each other and put their relationship back on the right track, a statement from China's foreign ministry quoted Wang as saying in a phone call with Senator Wong on Tuesday.

Until recently, with a resumption of ministerial contacts, relations between China and Australia had been at rock bottom, with Beijing blocking or limiting imports of various Australian commodities.
