Chilling footage linked to kidnapping attempt
Chilling footage has been released after a man allegedly tried to abduct a child as he was walking home.
The boy, 11, was walking home from school along Halley Street, Blackburn in Melbourne about 3.45pm on Monday when he was allegedly approached by an unknown man driving a white van.
After pulling on to the wrong side of the street, it’s alleged the man told the boy through the van’s window that his mother asked him to drive the boy home.
The boy then declined the offer before the man drove away.
Upon returning home, the boy told his mother who then reported the incident to police.
Described as aged between 30-40 years old, the man is believed to be caucasian with dirty blonde hair.
A computer generated image of the man they believe may assist with their enquiries has been released, along with CCTV footage of a van seen in the vicinity of the incident.
A separate image has also been released of a similar style van described as having triangular lights and black wheels.
