A man has been filmed allegedly dumping the body of his girlfriend and her unborn child on the side of a road.

Goey Charles, 29, has been arrested and accused of killing Vanessa Pierre, 29.

NYPD Chief Rodney Harrison uploaded a video to Twitter which he said shows Charles dragging Ms Pierre’s body from a car on Friday about 4.38am at the Horace Harding Expressway in Queens, New York.

The man in the video is seen leaving the body on the footpath before getting back in the car and driving off.

Police said Ms Pierre was found dead laying facedown on the footpath.

A spokesperson for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told Fox News, Ms Pierre died of asphyxiation due to compression on her neck.

Charles’ mother Marjorie, 48, told NY Daily News the couple had stayed over at her house the night before Ms Pierre died.

“He said, ‘Momma, don’t make any noise, my wife is sleeping,’” Ms Charles told NY Daily News.

“Now Joey’s going to kill his wife? I don’t know what’s going on.”

Ms Pierre’s sister Melissa, 27, told the New York Post she was “very excited about the baby”.

She added her sister never got “into altercations with anybody”.

Charles was arrested on Monday and charged with second-degree murder.
