Chickens set alight at skate park

Two chickens have been deliberately set on fire in Adelaide while a third bird escaped the same fate.

A passerby found the burnt birds – one dead and one still alive but badly injured – near Kidman Park skate-park within Collins Reserve on Valetta Rd, but both have since died.

An RSPCA inspector visited the park about 3pm on Sunday and found a third chicken wedged under a fence at the skate park.

It has been taken into care at RSPCA’s Lonsdale shelter.

RSPCA South Australia is seeking public assistance to identify the perpetrators.

Anyone who believes they may be the owners of these chickens – or who may know the identity of the owners – is asked to call RSPCA South Australia’s 24-hour cruelty hotline on 1300 4 777 22.
