Spanish-American chef Jose Andres, along with the nonprofit World Central Kitchen, has spent most of October helping distribute food and serve hot meals to hungry Puerto Ricans in need in the wake of the devastating hurricanes.
Dozens of volunteers at World Central Kitchen prepared tens of thousands of sandwiches each day in San Juan, while Andres and his team ventured out to serve food to citizens in more rural areas. On October 20, Andres posted on Facebook saying that his team, with the help of the national guard, were able to deliver “spit-roasted chicken to 1,000 in isolated San Lorenzo.”
