'Cheating' wife stabbed to death at McDonald’s, body driven to police

A man who stabbed his cheating wife to death and then sent photos of her blood-soaked corpse to her lover after a meal at McDonald's has been seized by police.

Accused Pedro Grajalez, 52, drove his wife's body to a police station and confessed to the brutal killing, showing them pictures of her gruesome injuries.

Victim Nilda Rivera, 57, was stabbed over 25 times in the head, arms and chest in the frenzied attack in the family car outside the restaurant in the US state of Connecticut on April 16.

Grajalez, police allege, calmly confessed to the slaying and then pulled out his smartphone to show police horrific images of her body. He has been charged with one count of murder.

The Hartford Police Department said in an affidavit that "Grajalez proceeded to show Hartford Police Officer Alexander Oralaza a photograph on his cellular telephone of a female with multiple stab wounds.

"Officer Oralaza asked Grajalez where the female was, and he stated that she was in a vehicle outside of the police department."

Grajalez was immediately detained while police found Nilda's body in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.

The affidavit said Nilda "was covered in blood and had numerous stab wounds throughout her torso and head".

She was taken to hospital but declared dead, according to local media.

Doctors who treated the victim said that she had sustained "upwards of twenty-five puncture wounds to her chest, head, face, and arms".

Police said that they recovered a bloodstained knife from the vehicle.

Grajalez reportedly told officers he had been planning his wife's murder for days.

He said he had discovered she was having an affair and on the day of the murder he took her to McDonald's before parking in a remote location and stabbing her.

Grajalez has had his bond set at $US 3 million (A$ $4.4 million) and will next appear in court on 15th May.
