Charges laid over fatal Vic highway smash

More than four months after a head-on smash west of Melbourne that killed a motorcyclist, a man has been charged by police with dangerous driving.

The 54-year-old rider was taken to hospital but died after the February 3 smash on the Princes Highway at Warncoort when a Ford F250 ute allegedly overtook another vehicle and collided with the oncoming motorbike.

A 67-year-old man from Wollert has been charged with culpable and dangerous driving causing death and reckless conduct, and he's due to face court on June 29, police said on Tuesday.
