Charge after $3.5m cash seizure in Perth

A 28-year-old man has been charged after $3.5 million in cash was found in two suitcases at a short-stay accommodation property in Perth.

Police allege they initially discovered $10,000 in cash concealed in a car at the man's Como home, with the rest of the money and counting machines found at a Belmont property he was renting.

The man has been charged with two counts of laundering the proceeds of crime and is due to face Perth Magistrates Court on March 20.
