Why Celeste Barber will 'never look at' lingerie parody snap again

Celeste Barber says she'll 'never look at'the picture she posted to her Instagram page parodying a photo of Kendall Jenner wearing a 'micro thong'.

The Aussie comedian, who is the new face of beauty brand MCoBeauty, took to her social media account last week to upload a photo showing herself wearing a tiny red thong and matching top, looking sensational as she imitated the 25-year-old supermodel.

However, on the Fitzy & Wippa show, Celeste was asked if there was any photo a celebrity posted where she thought 'I just can’t do this one, it’s just crosses a a line and I can’t come back from that if I do it?”

Over the years, maybe there have been a few where I’ve gone “I don’t reckon anyone needs to see that will just stop there. However the photos that I parody now are getting more full on, like the models, what they post really is getting more full on so I just end up going with it," Celeste replied.

"There are some that I can’t look at. That Kendall Jenner one, I’m happy it got out there and everyone thinks it’s great but I will never look at that again now."

While Celeste might parody many celebrity Instagram photos, she says she never receives any backlash over the shoots.

It’s all positive really, you know it’s not, I’m not getting into them, it’s a comment on the industry more than anything and they get that. And the photos that I’m doing, they are posting them, I’m not getting them from paparazzi. It’s always, they put the photos out there and then I just have an absolute field day with them," she said.

Last week, Kendall Jenner's photo caused uproar, with many accusing her of "promoting unrealistic body standards”, however, Celeste was applauded by her fans for showing a "real" body type when she uploaded her imitation of the snap.

"SKIMS- Now with bonus yeast infection," Celeste captioned the post, referencing Kendall Jenner's shoot for Skims, which is Kim Kardashian's lingerie brand.

"At least you look real Celeste," one fan commented, with another saying: "I'm screaming".

"I know it's not the point of your post but I think the bikini actually looks lovely on. You doing more to sell it to me than Kendal tbh," another wrote.

Another person commented saying: "All jokes aside you actually look amazing".

Kendall caused a stir after appearing in a campaign for her sister, Kim Kardashian’s, shapewear company, Skims.

The 25-year-old posed in a bra and a matching red ‘micro thong’, showing off her incredible physique alongside her two sisters, 40-year-old Kim and 23-year-old Kylie Jenner.

Touted as the ‘sexiest’ Skims collection yet, the sisters certainly lived up to the hype, with Kim spraying whipped cream on her finger and licking it off and Kylie crawling around on all fours with a heart-shaped lollipop in her mouth.

However, it was supermodel Kendall that really got tongues wagging online with many calling her a "goddess" and others accusing her of "promoting unrealistic body standards”.

Instagram account Problematic Fame wrote: "This photo is very photoshopped. Kendall is obviously very gorgeous but these are not her real proportions, nor are they anybody's.

"Please don't compare yourself to heavily edited images. Even Kendall doesn't look like this irl."

Others agreed, calling for the ‘ridiculous Photoshop’ to stop.

One fan posted on Twitter: "I got 99 problems and looking like Kendall Jenner would solve all of them”, to which Kendall replied: "I am an extremely lucky girl. appreciative of all that i have. but i want you to know i have bad days too and that i hear you! you are beautiful just the way you are!!! it's not always as perfect as it may seem."

Kendall has previously spoken out about her own body insecurities, in an interview with The Telegraph.

"My sisters are a lot curvier than me," she said.

"They have boobs, and I don't have boobs. Growing up being this little twiggy girl, I saw my sisters and always thought 'oh no am I supposed to be more sexy like them?' I almost felt like I didn't fit in for a part of my life."

She added that she eventually learned to love her own body and her different personality.

"I like that I have a different vibe to everyone," she said.

"I like to do different things. And that's okay."

Meanwhile, Kendall’s famous sisters loved her Skims shoot, with Khloe commenting on her Instagram photos: "I just don't even understand… How are you a living human? You're soooooooo stunning I can't take it."

Kylie called her sister 'perf' while Kim joked with fans to remind her to never do a photoshoot with a supermodel again.
