Celebrity Race Across The World's Jeff Brazier stormed off after an emotional row with his son Freddy.

Despite the argument, fans revealed they are backing the father and son duo Jeff and Freddy Brazier to win. The father and son showed their close bond following the disagreement, making fans immediately warm to the pair.

Their frayed tempers showed early on in the series as they fell out over how "open" their family was, but viewers were touched by their efforts to put the argument behind them.

It might only have been the first episode of Celebrity Race Across The World, but the pressure had already hit the contestants as they struggled to navigate the first leg through Brazil, leaving Jeff Brazier and son Freddy losing their tempers. So much so that Jeff stormed off.

When they boarded the bus after the row, Freddy told the cameras: "Part of me came on this race to open up with my dad and already he's storming off. That's not good. He might not like what I say, I'm just trying to talk to him really but it's hard."

They had stopped to eat dinner and Freddy joked that if he had control of the team's cash, he would have bought a bucket of ice cream - but his dad snapped: "You can just say if you really want something. It's our money...You don't need to do stuff on the quiet. It's better for our family if we're just open and honest with each other."

His comment clearly hit a nerve, as Freddy shot back: "I don't think we're even open as a family though. I stayed quiet because I feel like that's what everyone else does."

An annoyed Jeff asked: "Are you joking? Freddy don't be unfair. What have I done for the last seven or eight years? Don't say that I don't. Take responsibility, that's part of this."

All was forgiven later, with an apology and the pair won over viewers as they shared a hug and later congratulating each other on coming in third to the checkpoint.

Freddy said: "Sounds like my dad's really proud of me...it's nice to hear that, really nice."

Social media was awash with heartwarming comments from fans about the pair. One viewer commented on X: "I have a feeling there’s going to be lots of tears between Jeff and Freddy in the next few weeks," as another person wrote: "My heart just broke for Freddie Brazier."

Someone else added: "The dynamic between Freddie and Jeff is fascinating! I’m rooting for them!"

Another person wrote: "Didn't really have an opinion on Jeff Brazier etc but he just seems like a good dad, trying to get his kids to be good humans. I respect that."

In fact, fans were already backing them to win as one viewer commented: "I adore Jeff and Freddy; rooting for them to win," as someone else agreed: "Never watched #CelebrityRaceAcrossTheWorld before. But just loved that 1st episode. We are definitely team Jeff & Freddie in this house @JeffBrazier Think it’s gonna be emotional."

Brook and her husband Parisi were the surprise winners of the first leg after viewers spent the episode accusing Brook of not realising it was a race.

Parisi was keen to save money on overnight buses and by working, while Brook complained about missing out on experiences and having to travel on a budget.

One viewer commented: "It's not who can save the most money" Kelly there, showing she has not watched this show. Ever."

Someone else joked: "According to Kelly Brook. It’s 'Celebrity Take Your Time Across The World’." Another viewer added: "If it was up to Kelly, I doubt they would even get to first checkpoint, before the others have crossed the finish line. She is going to drive her husband bonkers."

Others pointed out that Brook was making most of the couple's decisions and accused her of shutting down Parisi as one viewer wrote: "Why do Kelly and Jeremy give me MAFSUK couple on their honeymoon vibes?"

So it came as a shock to both the couple and viewers to see them arrive at the checkpoint first, putting them in the lead. Brook said: "I wish we'd seen more, but Jeremy's a winner, I want him to be a winner."

She also surprised viewers earlier in the episode by admitting: "To think that I was a pin-up and did calendars. It's all an illusion, Kelly Brook doesn't actually exist. It's not even a real name, it's never even been on my passport."

Celebrity Race Across The World airs on BBC One at 9pm on Wednesdays.
