Celebrity Bear Hunt's Bear Grylls says 'real hero' emerges after 'baptism of fire'
The star said filming the Netflix survival show was an 'adventure'
What did you miss?
Bear Grylls has revealed that viewers will see a "real hero" emerge in his new survival show Celebrity Bear Hunt.
The Netflix series — which is co-hosted by Holly Willoughby — sees celebs such as Mel B, Shirley Ballas, Una Healy and Boris Becker sent into the Central American jungle and taught survival skills before being hunted by Grylls in what has been called a "brutal game of cat and mouse".
Speaking on The One Show, Grylls said it was a "baptism of fire" for the stars, but that "most of them did great".
What, how and why?
The contest will see 12 stars in the jungle, with Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Steph McGovern, Joe Thomas, Danny Cipriani, Leomie Anderson, Lottie Moss, Big Zuu and Kola Bokinni also having signed up.
Grylls was on The One Show on Monday, 3 February ahead of the programme’s release on Netflix on Wednesday, and said filming had been "an adventure".
"At the end there was one winner — a real hero emerges," he said. "It was good fun."
Grylls went on: "So much of traditional survival I’ve always done has always been about being found, making yourself visible, build fires and making sure people can find you.
"This is different, this is stealth survival, trying to teach them how to move and the tracking and how to stay camouflaged and hidden."

Does Netflix have what it takes to compete with the BBC in reality TV?
"For these guys, baptism by fire," he said. "Most of these 12, in fact all of these 12, had never done anything like this before, first time in the jungle.
"So a lot to process, a lot to go wrong because there is obviously a lot of dangers already in the jungle, so steep learning curve but they did great. Most of them did great!"
What else did Bear Grylls say?
Asked what he had thought when he first saw the line-up for the show, Grylls said: "You never really know how people are going to react until you are in it… you never know at the start."
He continued: "People like Shirley, who is a little bit older than the others, and you might think, 'Oh she is petite and how is she going to manage?' But she is like, steely.
"You don’t get to the top of the dance profession unless you are calm in a crisis, courageous, laser focused and determined.
"So I kind of like that you see maybe these unlikely people sort of grow and really start to shine. And she was like that."
Celebrity Bear Hunt will debut on Netflix on Wednesday, 5 February.
The One Show airs on BBC One at 7pm on weekdays.
