CCTV shows horror crash that killed father of six in Sydney street

Nour Marbany, 35, was a passenger in the Holden ute that collided with another car before flipping in Merrylands.

The shocking moment a ute collided with another car on a residential street on Sunday, killing a Sydney father of six, has been captured on CCTV footage as neighbours recall the aftermath of the horrific crash.

Nour Marbany, 35, was the passenger in the Holden Commodore ute reportedly being driven by his brother. They were travelling along Hawksview Street at Merrylands, in western Sydney, around 5pm on Saturday when they flipped their car after smashing into a white Hyundai i30.

Video footage shared by media shows the black Holden whizzing down the suburban street being closely followed by another vehicle. At one point, moments before the crash, it swerved to pass a truck on the inside of a single lane. Suddenly, the ute collides with the white Hyundai, which looks to have been doing a U-turn at the time, flipping and rolling into a third vehicle that was parked.

It's been reported investigators are looking into whether the Holden may have been speeding or drag racing along the road ahead of the crash, however NSW Police could not confirm this with Yahoo News.

The residential road is believed to have a 50km/h limit. The speed of the Holden before the crash is unknown. NSW Police said no charges have been laid.

Emergency services were called to the crash sight after reports of a three-vehicle collision. Despite efforts to save him, Mr Marbany died at the scene, according to NSW Police.

The driver of the Hyundai — a 37-year-old man — was not injured and underwent mandatory testing at Westmead Hospital. While Mr Marbany's brother, the driver, was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and also for mandatory testing.

Neighbours recall 'screaming and shouting' after loud smash

Mr Marbany's wife Rema Zreika shared a heartbreaking tribute to her late husband on social media following the news of his death. "You've shattered me into a million pieces. Inshallah [If God wills] I can be strong enough to raise your 6 kids," she wrote on Facebook.

Friends and family also shared their own words of support. "May he rest in peace my deepest condolences to you all," one person wrote. "May [God] give you strength to continue your journey as one of the best caring mums I know. You're an amazing soul full of love and care for the people around you," shared another.

A neighbour who heard the loud smash told 7 News it was "pretty sad" on Sunday night. "I kept thinking, what if we were out with the kids, and it happened, and we got hit. It’s very sad," another said.

Local resident Carol Malouf told 9 News she heard people "screaming and shouting" to help remove Mr Marbany from the car after the crash. Another resident Jemma Achi, said he was unable to move, so she sat and comforted him before he died.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
