CCTV captures terrifying moment woman fights off attacker

A manhunt is underway after a Gold Coast woman was viciously assaulted by a man she had arranged to meet.

The woman was standing outside a Surf Parade complex in Broadbeach with a man when he assaulted her, striking her in the face and attempting to restrain her.

CCTV released by Queensland Police on Thursday shows the woman breaking free from his grip and sprinting away from the attacker who is left trying to pick a series of belongings scattered on the ground.

He then flees in the same direction before eventually turning around. He was last seek running south on the Gold Coast Highway after stealing her phone.

Police said the 40-year-old woman had arranged to meet the man, however she didn’t know him.

She received treatment for non-life threatening facial injuries sustained in the assault.

The man is described as aged in his late 20s or early 30s, 170 centimetres tall and prop to solid build.

He was clean shaven and had blonde hair and blue or green eyes.

He was wearing black track pants, a light grey hoody, black cap and no footwear.
