A man who died in a crash has been described by his family as "kind and caring".

Michael McTaggart's Renault Megane collided with a Ford Kuga and hit three parked vehicles in Rossendale, at about 03:00 BST on Sunday, Lancashire Police said.

The 20-year-old carer from Rossendale died at the scene on Burnley Road East.

The force has appealed for witnesses and urged anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

In a statement, his family said he would be "deeply missed".

"He was an avid drummer in his spare time and played in multiple bands," they added.

“Growing up, Michael was a pupil at Haslingden High School and more recently worked as a carer, a testament to his kind and caring nature.

“He was the beloved son of Paul and Joan, and sibling to Kurt, Matthew and Nicole, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.”
