A car with three men inside has crashed through a barrier and landed in the Cooks River in Sydney's inner southwest.
Emergency services were called to Fifth Avenue Campsie around 3:30am on Monday after reports a car had driven into the river.
Officers from Campsie Police Area Command attended and found a Honda Jazz in the water.
Police have been told the car was travelling along Burwood Road when it crossed into the southbound lane before crashing through the barrier and going into the water.
The driver and two occupants - all men aged in their 20s - managed to get out of the vehicle and have been taken to hospital for assessment. The driver will also undergo mandatory blood and urine tests.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.
