The ACT has recorded 12 new cases of COVID-19 in the latest reporting period.

There are now four COVID cases in Canberra hospitals, with one of them being in intensive care and on a ventilator.

The apparent spike in hospitalisations due to COVID comes from a change in reporting methods by health authorities to include both active and cleared cases in hospital.

ACT Health previously only reported the number of active cases that still required treatment.

The 12 new daily cases have taken the capital's number of active case to 185.

There is now 96.5 per cent of Canberra's population over 12 who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Testing rates in the capital have remained relatively stable, with 1470 negative tests in the past 24 hours.

Since the start of the Delta outbreak in the ACT in August, there have been 1841 total infections.
