Driver performs burnouts with man in wheelchair on back of ute

A group of people performing a burnout in a ute west of Canberra have caught the attention of police.

ACT Policing shared photos of a group of men after they were filmed doing burnouts with two passengers seated in the ute’s tray.

One of the men in the tray was in a wheelchair.

“The burnout resulted in the vehicle catching fire – placing the occupants and bystanders at risk,” police said.

“It is believed the incident occurred in a roadside car park to the west of the city and numerous witnesses were present.”

ACT Police said they wish to speak with anyone who witnessed the burnouts.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding this matter or who witnessed the incident and/or anyone with footage of the incident to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the online reporting page.
