Canada has placed no restrictions on the use of weapons it provides to Ukraine against targets in Russian territory, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said on May 29.

During a joint press briefing with her Swedish counterpart, Tobias Billström, she emphasized that "Russia has no red lines," unlike some of Ukraine’s Western partners.

She added that Canada intends to continue providing extensive military aid to Kyiv.

"And in Canada, there are no conditions for supplying weapons to Ukraine, so we will continue to work with the Ukrainian military," said Joly.

Earlier on May 29, AFP news agency, citing unnamed sources, reported that Ukraine had already used Western weapons several times for strikes on Russian territory, most recently in Krasnodar.

In recent weeks, the United States and Germany have emerged as the last remaining providers of military aid to Kyiv that still insist their weapons must not be used to attack Russia’s sovereign territory.
