Can you spot the snake hiding in this room?

A little common tree snake has dozens of social media users stumped.

The snake slithered into an elderly woman’s home at Diddillibah on the Sunshine Coast and managed to find itself a good hiding place.

She got a bit of a fright when she first spotted the reptile seeking refuge in her home, and called for help.

Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 posted a picture on Facebook following the call-out, asking their followers to figure where it was hiding.

“It kind of shows people what we deal with on a day to day basis,” Lockie Gilding from Sunshine Coast Snake Cathers 24/7 explained, adding that when they attend call-outs reptiles are not always easy to spot.

And on this occasion, the snake’s location left many people scratching their heads and staring at the screen – trying to make out some scales, or a head, or any part of a snake.

Most were not successful.

“I’ve got nothing… not even a guess this time,” one person wrote on Facebook.

I never find them – does my head in. Please publish the answer soon so I don’t go nuts,” another person said.

Dozens did hazard a guess, thinking it could be “laying on the book on the middle shelf to the right,” or at the “bottom of curtain on left”, or even on the top shelf with its “head coming around fluffy toy.”

However, this snake’s location is so difficult to pinpoint a couple of people thought it might have been a trick.

“There’s a few theology books there. Maybe the serpent is in the fine print,” one said.

But it wasn’t a hoax – a handful of people did respond with the correct answer.

“Bottom shelf, very thin around white book,” one guessed correctly.

“It’s gotta be that thin thing wrapped around the book under the bottom,” said another.

The snake catcher said while these guessing games give people an insight into their jobs, it is also just a bit of fun and people get very involved.
