'How can can this happen in broad daylight?': Car overturns on freeway in shock video

Dashcam footage of a car flipping spectacularly across a Perth highway median strip has left many bewildered, wondering how it could have happened on such a straight stretch of road.

Out of nowhere, a blue sedan can be seen flying through the air after it leaves the right side of the city’s busy Roe Freeway.

The airbourne car then tumbles and bounces a number of times as it makes its way to the other side of the median strip, near the Brixton Street overpass, at Beckenham.

Luck appeared to be on the driver’s side, as the vehicle was one flip away from colliding with oncoming traffic, and stopped short just in time.

According to the Dash Cam Owner Australia Facebook page, where the footage was shared on Tuesday, those involved were miraculously not badly injured.

Very fortunate that there was no trees or lamp posts where they crashed. It would have been a whole lot worse for those involved if they’re [sic] had been,” one viewer commented.

The incredible footage left many wondering how the massive rollover happened seemingly without warning.

One suggested a tyre blow out could have been to blame, while others thought the driver may have spun out after clipping another vehicle while attempting to change lanes.

The clip received more than 42,000 views in less than 24 hours of appearing on social media.
