Call for witnesses of Hobart bar shooting

Two people who may have seen those behind an apparent targeted shooting at a Hobart bar have been urged by police to come forward.

Two men remain on the run after a high-powered rifle was fired "multiple times" through a steel door at Pablo's Bar and Dreams just after midnight on Sunday.

None of the 20 patrons and staff inside the bar at the time were hurt.

The gun and ammunition were found nearby.

Police on Tuesday released a brief description of the alleged offenders.

One is believed to be in his 40s with a short and stocky muscly build, red facial hair and wearing black long-sleeved top, trousers and boots.

The other was wearing a dark or grey top with dark jeans.

Investigators say two people standing on the intersection of Bathurst Street and Watchorn Street may have seen the pair walk past.

Pablos Cocktails and Dreams, a 1920s, "speakeasy" style bar that usually closes at midnight, is expected to reopen next week.
