Café blasts customers over ‘entitled’ coffee act
The incident has left Australians shocked at the treatment the café worker suffered at the hands of a customer.
A café owner has blasted two customers for an "entitled" act that left a staff member “on edge” and dripping in hot coffee. In shocking CCTV footage shared online, a woman is seen throwing a cup of hot coffee at the worker at Little Latte Drive Thru in the Melbourne suburb of Hoppers Crossing.
Café owner Ebony Spiteri told Yahoo News Australia the reason behind the shocking move on Sunday afternoon was the customer “couldn’t wait more than two minutes” to be served. Spiteri is now appealing to the public to track down the woman — saying staff won’t feel safe until the woman has been held accountable.
“It’s disappointing,” said Ebony, describing the act as “entitled”. “These are grown women behaving this way,” she said. “There is no excuse for this behaviour."
Melbourne coffee attack caught on CCTV
In shocking CCTV footage, the cafe worker is seen handing the coffees to the two women standing outside.
One of the women is then seen forcing herself into the café’s serving window before throwing the steaming coffee at the worker who reacts in shock, shaking hot coffee off her top.
A second angle shows the woman being handed her coffee before she throws the coffee through the window before stepping back.

After the incident, the two women ran off according to Spiteri and two other kind-hearted drive-thru customers got out of their cars to come to the aid of the barista.
The café was forced to shut following the incident and both police and ambulance were called to the scene.

Aussies react in shock to 'messed up' moment
Aussies across the country who witnessed the footage have been left in shock, describing the moment as "messed up".
"The staff member was so calm. I'd lose it," said another.
"You can see the steam coming off of it," said a third. "I hope you’re able to press charges or get some form of justice."
Ebony said she has been "overwhelmed" by the positive response from the community since sharing footage of the incident online.
"We are so grateful and overwhelmed by the positive response from the community. Without all their help, we wouldn’t be any closer to finding who it is," she said. "She threw it and she knew what she had done and ran off. We want to see that person held accountable and make sure she doesn’t do this to anyone else."
