Bus driver rushed to hospital after passenger 'cut his ear with knife'

A bus driver has been attacked with a knife in western Sydney and a passenger has been taken into police custody.

Emergency services were called to Blacktown Railway Station about 1.30pm on Saturday where they found the driver, aged in his 30s, with a cut to his ear.

Police will allege an 18-year-old male passenger attacked the driver before fleeing on foot.

The driver was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment while the alleged attacker was arrested when he showed up to Blacktown Hospital a short time later.

He is currently assisting police with inquiries.
