Bunnings and Officeworks join the Flybuys fray: 'Can't wait'

If you’ve been banking up your Flybuys points there are now two new stores you can earn and redeem them at - just in time for Christmas.

Bunnings and Officeworks have teamed up with Flybuys becoming partners of the popular loyalty retail program.

From early December, Flybuys members across the country will be able to earn and redeem points across 350 Bunnings Warehouses and 170 Officeworks stores nationally.

Other stores that accept the loyalty program include Wesfarmers and Coles Group retail businesses such as Coles, Liquorland, Kmart, Target and Catch.

“Bunnings and Officeworks joining Flybuys will expand the value of the Flybuys program for members and provide exciting new opportunities to support customers,” Rob Scott, Wesfarmers Managing Director said in a statement.

“This partnership will complement the development of Wesfarmers’ data and digital ecosystem, providing insights that enable our businesses to offer more relevant, personalised customer experiences.”

The news welcomed by shoppers

The announcement comes just as many of us start our Christmas shopping, get organised for summer holiday DIY projects and start preparing to get the kids for the next school year.

Flybuys fans have already excitedly started reacting to the news, saying they can’t wait for the program to launch in stores come December.

“About time. With the money we spend in Bunnings I can’t wait,” one shopper said on a Flybuys fans Facebook page.

“OMG. My Flybys points balance will go through the roof with this!” Added another.

“Finally my addiction to plants is going to pay off,” joked a third.

How does it work?

Shoppers receive 1 point for every $1 spent at stores that accept the loyalty program.

These points can then be redeemed by spending back in stores, on travel vouchers or other retail goods.

The popular loyalty program, which has been running in Australia for 27 years, has an impressive eight million members.

“We know millions of our customers will be excited because Flybuys member research shows that Bunnings is the most preferred partner in Australia to join the program and we know that Officeworks is an essential part of helping Australians increasingly working from home,” Coles Group Chief Executive Officer, Steven Cain said.

“We look forward to continuing to support millions of Flybuys members receive more value from their purchases and deliver more opportunities to collect and redeem points in-store.”
