Outrage over Brooklyn Beckham's 'disgusting' act in photo

Brooklyn Beckham has been called out by a domestic violence charity after a picture shared on Instagram showed him holding fiancée Nicola Peltz's neck.

The photo, which was posted in September, shows Brooklyn holding Nicola's neck while enjoying a night out for dinner.

In another post shared last week, Nicola is seen holding Brooklyn's neck while he shaves.

The founder of IKWRO Women's Rights Organisation, a charity that campaigns against domestic violence, honour-based violence and forced marriage, described the photo as "disgusting", saying it's a mistake to see something so serious being portrayed as a joke.

Dianna Nammi said she believed the image should be deleted and the couple should be forced to apologise publicly.

"It is disgusting and I think with serious matters no one should allow themselves to make a joke," she told Daily Mail.

She continued, saying their organisation sees many women who have been the victim of domestic violence who have been strangled by their husbands, partners or boyfriends.

"So we are talking about real life, even if it's a joke it is disgusting in my opinion. I think it should be banned from Instagram this kind of picture. He is 21 so mature enough to know it is a very serious matter and I think he has to apologise openly and tell people that he made a huge mistake," she said.

Dianna said that it was an especially "dangerous message" to young people and that both men and women, but women especially, need to be respected.

"I think he has to really learn how to treat women, he has to go to healthy relationship education courses and learn how to act as a responsible human being," she said.

Fans were quick to comment on the post of Brooklyn holding Nicola by the neck with one user writing, "Why he choking though."

Another added, "Every [girlfriend] he has had there are photos of him holding them round the neck. Even when he puts his arm round them it’s really tight looks like a headlock.

“Really odd the way he’s never pictured with any male friends just his [girlfriends] who he falls in love with in 2mins & then holds them by the throats etc."

"That's just sick... Poor Nicola," one user responded.

Someone else wrote, "You all into some freaky s**t."

However a number of fans also commented saying the pair was "couple goals" and "so cute together".

On the photo of Nicola holding Brooklyn's neck one fan said, "What’s with the hand around the throat thing weird."

However, the majority of comments were positive with some users jokingly referring to them as "mum and dad" and saying they make an "adorable" couple.

Brooklyn also commented on the snap, "I’m the luckiest boy in the world to have you by my side."
