Girl, 15, vanishes in middle of night during family’s dream holiday

A desperate search is underway for a British teenager who vanished from her room during a family holiday to Malaysia.

Nora Quoirin, 15, from London, disappeared from the Dusun Resort in the town of Seremban, about 60km south of Kuala Lumpur, with her parents finding her room empty on Sunday morning (local time).

Her bedroom window at the secluded resort on the edge of rainforest was ajar when her parents went to check on her, the BBC reported.

Local authorities are scouring the area with sniffer dogs for the teen, who has learning difficulties.

Family friend Catherine Morrison told the BBC the family had only just begun their dream holiday.

"They had just arrived – it was going to be a trip of a lifetime.”

Ms Morrison said the family was “frantic” and her disappearance was out of character.

The girl’s aunt Aisling Agnew took to Twitter on Sunday in a plea for help from anyone in the local area.

While the family has lived in the UK for over two decades, it is understood Nora had travelled on an Irish passport, the BBC said.

According to its Facebook page, the Dusun Resort is a “small, socially-conscious eco-resort on a durian orchard” which consists of six bungalows and two pools.

The accomodation is positioned on top of a small hill, with the resort citing privacy as one of their main draws for guests.
