A British man has reportedly died after being pulled unconscious from the sea in a picturesque cove in Ibiza.
The 35-year-old is believed to have been taking underwater photos with a friend in Punta Galera, near the tourist resort of San Antonio, when he got into difficulty.
According to reports, emergency services were called to the scene after the man's friend raised the alarm on Wednesday evening but despite their efforts he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Punta Galera, which has a series of 'shelves' caused by the rock formations, is popular with cliff jumpers as well as for snorkelling and watching the sunset.
A Guardia Civil spokesman has reportedly confirmed the man was a 35-year-old Briton.
According to the Metro, the spokesman said the alarm was raised at around 6.15pm on Wednesday when they received a call from a regional emergency response coordination centre.
"All we can say at the moment is that the dead man was 35 and British. An investigation is under way," the spokesman reportedly added.
