An Englishman is attempting to turn people away from moving to Australia by sharing a list of his gripes with the country — and went as far as to categorise the "entire" country as "very racist".

Owen Willis took to social media to share his hot take on Australia, telling followers he was 'de-influencing' fellow Brits by sharing his experience of living away from home.

"Australia isn't going to solve all your problems," he said in a video. "I'm not saying the UK is perfect but my idea of Australia in my head was this utopian paradise."

Willis, who says he lived in Australia in 2022, and has since returned to the UK goes on to share how the country didn't live up to his expectations. He lists the weather, cost of living, the wildlife and even "casual racism" as his major issues.

"I lived in so many places in Australia I feel like I have a round enough view to categorise the whole country as a racist country," he proclaimed.

While he points out it's less the case in major cities like Sydney and Melbourne, he claims in Queensland he was left "shocked by what people would say to me".

Willis said another major issue he had was the varying wildlife that Australia has to offer — but not the usual ones foreigners are afraid of like snakes and spiders.

Among the scariest animals to Willis were jellyfish which "are either gigantic or deadly" and bats which he describes as "like eagles" due to their size.

"It genuinely ruined my night so many times by not being able walk down certain streets because I knew bats would hang from the trees," he said. "It actually used to scare me so much."

Ironically, he also says that the "short days" were a major turn off for him, despite coming from the UK where in winter the sun sets before 4pm on the shortest day of the year.

While some were quick to agree with Willis's view of Australia, others were more critical.

"Aren’t you a little ray of sunshine, hopefully you’re happier now at home," said one viewer.

"I’ve always wanted to go to Australia, maybe not anymore," said another.

Another branded him "such a knob" adding "I moved here 24 years ago, it's the best place to live on this earth, we really don't need any more whinging Poms."

He's not the first Brit to share a controversial view of Australia. After being kicked out of a pub, another British man has declared he's officially "done with pubs" in one major Aussie city, claiming drinking rules there are "too strict", and bouncers relish the opportunity to exert their authoritative power.

Another said moving to the country is a "scam" after her six-month stay had left much to be desired.
