She may be the current reigning champion of Britain’s Got Talent but Sydnie Christmas says she’s already eyeing another foray into reality TV.

The 29-year-old singer was an early favourite on the ITV talent show after receiving the Golden Buzzer from judge Amanda Holden which fast-tracked her to the semi-finals.

It has now been four months since she was crowned the winner and Christmas - who has just released her debut album titled My Way - says she would be more than up for doing another reality show.

Speaking to the Standard, she said: “There are loads that look really fun that if the opportunity came up I’d be like ‘yeah!’ Come on Strictly, dancing shoes on! If I’m A Celebrity ever rung up by a miracle I’d be scared to say yes, but it’s one of those things that you can’t say no because it would just be a cracking experience. But oh god I don’t know how I’d cope on it.”

By that she means the creepy crawlies which are rife in the Australian jungle and now that we are in prime spider season here in the UK she says she has been “practising”.

The Kent-born star explained: “I keep trying to grab spiders off the wall to release them and I’m kind of doing it on purpose in case [I’m A Celebrity] springs upon me but I just can’t, I’m not getting any better about it. I can do it with the Daddy Longlegs and put them out of the window but I can’t do it with the thick daddies, the ones that look like they have muscles.”

She could also end up being the female Rylan Clark after recently getting a taste of TV presenting.

“It was a fantastic experience,” she enthused. “I was presenting in a John Lewis Christmas department for This Morning and it was live and it was scary and amazing. You just learn on the job and I loved it. I hope I get opportunities like that again because it’s just amazing and so fun. I would love to present!”

In the immediate future, she’s set to perform in front of royalty at the Royal Variety Performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall and will make her panto debut (oh, yes, she is!) as Fairy Christmas in Sleeping Beauty at Dartford’s Orchard West.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” she said. “I’ve never done panto and I’ve heard it’s a really good time.

“Of course you’ll get to hear me sing. I’m not too sure yet [if dancing is involved] but I’d love to dance. I love dancing. Let’s just say I love dancing more than I am gifted at it, if that makes sense,” she laughed.

When she first auditioned for BGT she said her dream was to “be in the West End” and she’s certainly achieving that.

Next year she will embark on a 10-date UK tour, including a stop at the Aldwych Theatre in the heart of London’s theatreland.

She says she feels “emotional” when she looks back at how far she has come since first auditioning for BGT.

“That experience changed my life. I will forever be grateful for BGT,” she concluded.

Sydnie Christmas’ album My Way is out now.
