Revealed: The town where a winning $50m Powerball ticket was bought

The search is on for the third winner of last night’s record-breaking $150m Powerball jackpot after the two other winners were revealed to be a Sydney dad and an inner-city Brisbane man.

The city where the final ticket was purchased has been revealed as Ipswich.

“If you purchased an entry into last night’s draw from an outlet in Ipswich, you have fifty million reasons why you should check your ticket as soon as possible," The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney said.

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy told Yahoo News Australia the other Queensland winner who has come forward was “shocked” to discover he had scooped one third of the eye-watering $150m Division One prize.

He revealed he’d failed to “sleep a wink” after discovering he’d won.

“I’ve been wide awake ever since. I couldn’t sleep at all. But I really didn’t want to get my hopes up,” he said.

He revealed he plans to build himself a dream home and spend some quality time with his family following his win.

The Sydney winner only found out this morning and when he told his wife as she got their kids ready for school, she didn’t believe him.

“I only bought my ticket last minute when I was at work yesterday because everyone else was buying them!” he explained.

“I thought, ‘you’ve got to be in it to win it’ so I bought one. And I am so glad I did!”

He said he would most likely take the day off work as he simply wouldn’t be able to concentrate.

The winning numbers for Thursday’s Powerball $150 million prize were 26, 4, 17, 5, 18, 8 and 31. The Powerball number being 9.

Half of all Australian adults were expected to have a ticket for the draw.
