Bride's sheer wedding dress looks like 'lingerie': 'Naughty nightie'

A sheer wedding dress has been deemed so revealing that it’s more suited to the honeymoon suite by scandalised social media users.

A Facebook user shared two snaps of the head-turning gown worn by what appears to be a model in a bedroom-themed photo shoot.

“This is a wedding dress, like whyyyyyy,” they wrote along with two crying emojis.

At first glance, the princess-style frock seems modest thanks to the floor-length, frothy tulle skirt, sweet spaghetti straps and delicate bow at the waist.

But a second look reveals a whole lot more than first meets the eye, namely the bride’s legs, cleavage and more than a hint of side-boob.

Judging by the comments on the post, the daring dress is not a design that suits everyone’s taste. Right off the bat, Facebook users began comparing it to ‘a naughty nighty’ with one going as far as to call it a ‘poofy nightgown’.

“Looks great... as wedding night lingerie,” one wrote.

“Why would anyone want all their friends and family to see them in a naughty nighty?” another asked.

Others were slightly more diplomatic with their criticism.

“It’s a really pretty dress but I wouldn’t wear it for a wedding,” wrote one.

“Needs a silk body fit dress under it that has a loose skirt to match the sheer,” suggested another,

Some spared the pleasantries and got straight to the point.

“Could be so pretty.. instead it’s sheer. I don’t get the whole sheer wedding dress thing. Nobody needs to see your bits at your wedding,” one said.

“Pretty much the only nice things about this are the shape/cut and the fit. The fabric and design are absolutely hideous,” another declared.

One Facebook user was concerned with the reactions the risqué gown might get from wedding guests.

“But could you imagine your mother-in-law’s reaction to a wedding dress like this?” they wondered.
