The Brazilian Air Force have launched an operation to assist firefighter tackling a blaze in the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park. On October 25, they dropped at least 13,000 gallons of water on the blaze, which erupted on October 17.
The park, which lies in Brazil’s central Goias state, is a Unesco World Heritage site, with one of the world’s oldest and most diverse tropical ecosystems.
