Frantic moment heroic police officers save choking baby

A hero police officer has saved a choking baby’s life after giving him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation as the boy's terrified parents watched.

The incident happened in the city of Marilia in the state of Sao Paulo in southeastern Brazil.

The boy’s panicked parents rushed into the police station with their 21-day-old son because he was choking on milk and had lost consciousness.

In the video, the father can be seen rushing into the station and handing his baby named Luis Henrique, who had reportedly turned blue in the face, to the officers identified as Renato Taroco and Robson Thiago de Souza.

The officers move quickly to begin carrying out CPR as the terrified mother runs in.

One of the officers gives the baby the kiss of life to try to get the tot to regurgitate the milk out of his throat whilst the other performs CPR.

The officers can then be seen checking the child’s airways as the distraught parents look on.

Eventually the officers can be seen carrying the baby and he moves his arms as his mother strokes his face.

The baby regurgitated the milk and began breathing normally thanks to the cops’ quick thinking, local media reported.

“When we saw the baby’s situation and the parents’ desperation, we became automatic, we didn’t think about anything and we just did what had to be done,” Mr Taroco told local media.

“It was emotional when we felt the baby come back to life.”

Luis Henrique, who was reportedly his parents’ first child, was then taken to hospital and the military police confirmed he was out of danger.

The boy was said to be doing “well”.
