Bradley Cooper was confused by Michael Keaton's odd emails about a horse saddle

Actor Michael Keaton was on Late Night With Seth Meyers Wednesday, where he was live from his horse ranch in Montana and talking about wanting to treat himself to a brand new custom saddle. So he reached out to a custom saddle maker who has the last name of Cooper, and began emailing back and forth.

But, as Keaton described, the more his email correspondence went on the more things started to feel a little off. As it turns out, it helps when the guy you think is making your saddle isn’t actually just a giant movie star who just so happens to have the same last name as the guy who makes saddles.

“He emails me back, ‘Who is this?’ I go, ‘Who is this? What are you talking about, who is this?’ Keaton said. “I had been mistakenly emailing Bradley Cooper.”

MICHAEL KEATON: So I contacted this guy whose last name was Cooper. He's a very good saddle maker out of Texas, moved to California. We started work on my saddle. That takes-- you know, it's a process.

KYLIE MAR: On "Late Night with Seth Myers," Wednesday, Michael Keaton was live from his horse ranch in Montana where he talked about treating himself to something nice, which, in this case, was a new custom saddle. But as his email correspondence with the saddle maker wore on, something just didn't fit right.

MICHAEL KEATON: And I'd go, hey, how are you doing? Just checking in. You know, we were talking about the engraving down the bottom. Keep it simple. But, yeah, OK, ha ha, exclamation point, right? [LAUGHS]

KYLIE MAR: Keaton, who has moved from a horse ranch in California to one in Montana in recent years, has good reason to treat himself since he'll be reprising his iconic role of Batman soon. But it helps when the guy you think is making your saddle isn't just a giant movie star instead.

MICHAEL KEATON: He emails me back. Who is this? [LAUGHS] I go, who is this? What are you talking about? Who is this? I had been mistakenly e-mailing Bradley Cooper.

[LAUGHTER]

KYLIE MAR: Now, Keaton and Cooper have not appeared in any projects together, but they did both attend the same Oscars luncheon in 2015. So maybe they exchanged emails then? Either way, we know that Bradley is a good sport, and he was ready to write that joke into the sunset.

MICHAEL KEATON: He goes, yeah, I was kind of rolling along with it. But I didn't know what I was supposed to say. And he said, I thought it was really a great gag. But I ran out-- I kind of ran out, you know, because you get really specific. [LAUGHTER]
