Brad Pitt reveals rare health disorder: 'Nobody believes me!'

Hollywood actor Brad Pitt claims he has a rare health disorder, which gives him ‘face blindness’.

The Fight Club actor revealed to GQ that he believes he suffers from the condition prosopagnosia, making it difficult to recognise people’s faces.

He admitted that he worries about people thinking he’s ‘inaccessible and self-absorbed’ in social situations, but he is actually desperate to remember everybody he meets.

The star said he’s ‘ashamed’ when he can’t recognise someone’s face, adding: “Nobody believes me!”

“I wanna meet another [sufferer],” he told the publication.

According to the NHS, many people with the disorder aren’t able to recognise family, friends or partners.

Sufferers often use coping strategies and memorise people’s hairstyles, clothing, and voice, or try to remember the way they walk.

In more severe cases, some with the condition may not even recognise their own face in photos or in the mirror.

The Oscar winner hasn’t been officially diagnosed, but has talked extensively in the past about his inability to place people’s faces.

Pitt also opened up to Esquire in 2013 about this issue, telling the publication that people thought he was rude if he didn’t know who they were immediately.

“So many people hate me because they think I’m disrespecting them.

“I piss more people off. You get this thing like, ‘You’re being egotistical. You’re being conceited.’

“But it’s a mystery to me. I can’t grasp a face and yet I come from such a design/aesthetic point of view,” he said.
