Boy suffers 'significant' head injuries after falling from Movie World ride
A young boy has been rushed to hospital after falling from a Movie World ride on the Gold Coast.
The boy was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition with “significant head lacerations,” a Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said.
A Village Roadshow Theme Parks spokesperson confirmed the incident occurred just after 1pm on a “carousel ride”, reported to be the Looney Tunes Carousel, according to the Courier-Mail.
“The guest received a laceration to his head and was attended to by Movie World’s Nurse before being taken to hospital in a stable condition,” the spokesperson said.
“Our thoughts are with the guest and his family, and we wish him a speedy recovery."
The park said an investigation is underway into the cause of the incident, and the ride will be closed while the investigation is ongoing.
