Boy filmed sneaking into garage to hug dog now has his own Labrador
The little boy who was filmed regularly sneaking into his neighbour's garage to hug her Labrador now finally has his own dog to cuddle.
Josh Breaux was caught on CCTV cycling up to a neighbour's house and rushing into the garage to pet their dog Duchess.
The dog's owner, Hollie Mallet of Pierre Part, was so "touched by the love" she posted the video to her Facebook page on May 31, in a bid to track down the little bandit.
The video went viral and has been viewed tens of millions of times across the world.
Josh was mourning the loss of his own dog, Bella, who passed away last year and his mother, Ginger Clement Breaux, said that it wasn't the right time to add another member to the family.
Ms Breaux said the video made her happy but she was "torn" over her son’s actions.
This week, the mother buckled and decided to adopt a new dog, Drake, and insists her decision was not inspired by the friendly pressure from viewers of the video.
"Surprised my babies with our new pup! Meet Drake!" Ms Breaux said along with the adorable video of Josh embracing Drake.
"Josh was in shock and literally almost cried. (Was hiding his face in the pillows) Janie kept asking "is it really ours?'"
Drake was given to Josh after his previous owner went to college and could no longer care for the puppy, ABC7 reported.
Despite the arrival of Josh's new best friend, he still goes to see Duchess for a cuddle.
