Boy charged after shooting Macca's fries at woman through a straw

A teenage boy has been charged with assault after using a straw to fire a chip at a woman in a McDonald’s restaurant.

The incident unfolded outside the Broadway shopping centre in Hammersmith, west London, when a group of young women got into an argument with a group of boys.

Police allege it was there a 13-year-old boy fired a hot chip through a straw, striking a woman in the face.

The boy’s mother labelled his arrest as “ridiculous” before disputing the sheer logistics of the alleged assault.

“It’s ridiculous. I tried to put a chip in a McDonald’s straw. It doesn’t fit,” she told The Sun.

The boy’s three friends, who are all aged 13, were also charged.

One pleaded guilty, one was handed a caution and another is awaiting a trial.
