A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a teenager was stabbed in the face.

Police were called to reports of an assault at Castle Causeway in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, just before 8.45pm on Friday night (2 July).

Lincolnshire Police said a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining several wounds to his face. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

On Sunday the force said a 15-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of GBH in connection with the incident and was helping officers with their inquiries.

In a statement, it said police still want to hear from anyone with information or who was in the area at the time, or who may have video footage of the incident.
