Boy, 13, critical after being hit by car in Sydney's northwest

A 13-year-old boy is in a critical condition after he was struck by a car in Sydney’s northwest.

The child was hit by the vehicle shortly before 7.30am as he walked along Burdekin Road in Quakers Hill.

He was struck outside a private residence in the road, NSW Police told Yahoo News Australia.

The boy sustained critical head injuries and is en route by helicopter to Westmead Children’s Hospital.

The female driver has been taken to hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
